AFSCME Local 1609 Annual Scholarship

The AFSCME Local 1609 Annual Scholarship was established to support local students pursuing an undergraduate degree at Ferris State University.

• Applicants will be enrolled half-time or greater during the semester or aid year in which they receive the award.

• Applicants will demonstrate a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at the time of application.

• Applicants will be an incoming freshman from:

o Big Rapids Public Schools; or o Chippewa Hills Public Schools; or o Crossroads Charter Academy of Big Rapids; or o Evart Public Schools; or o Morley Stanwood Public Schools; or o Reed City Public Schools.

• Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Consideration for need-based awards requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
